HCC Life STM Product and Rate Changes - 
Effective July 1, 2010

HCC Medical Insurance Services (HCCMIS) would like to announce the following changes for HCC Life Short Term Medical (STM) that will go into production on July 1st, 2010:
  • Rate Changes affecting the states where  membership in the Consumer Benefits of America Association is required

    • All applications pending as of 7/1 and all applications received on 7/1 or later will be subject to the new rates
  • The maximum coverage period has been modified from 12 months to 11 months, as a result of changes surrounding Health Care Reform
    • The states affected by this change include: AL, AK, AZ, AR, DC, DE, FL, HI, ID, IL, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, NM, NC, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, WA, WV, WI, and WY
  • Expansion of our state availability to now include Connecticut and Montana, bringing the total number of approved states for HCC Life STM to 44 states, plus Washington DC.
    • Connecticut Highlights
      • Coverage available for up to 6 months.
      • Same sex coverage (Primary/Spouse).
      • Dependent children coverage up to but not including age 26.
    • Montana Highlights
      • Policy issued directly to the insured.
      • Coverage available for up to 6 months.
      • Dependent children coverage up to but not including age 26.

HCC Life STM is underwritten and administered by HCC Life Insurance Company.   HCC Life STM is distributed by licensed agents contracted with: Allied Brokerage Services and HCC Medical Insurance Services, LLC.

"STM Stockpile" Stimulus Plan

HCC Medical Insurance Services, LLC (HCCMIS) is offering you the opportunity to participate in the "STM Stockpile" Stimulus Plan promoting our HCC Life STM product, which is underwritten and administered by HCC Life Insurance Company (HCC Life).

Promotion:  Last year at this time HCCMIS was kicking off the release of the HCC Life STM product in several new states, and the response from producers like you has shown that this product is one of the most competitive plans in the short term health insurance market.  They are once again poised for even larger growth in 2010 as they look to add more states.  (They are now in 44 states plus Washington D.C.)

Promotion Awards:  
  • An additional $30 per policy - This award is in addition to your contracted commission rate on policies submitted during the promotional period
  • $1,000 - Awarded to all eligible Producers who submit 10 or more HCC Life STM policies during the promotional period (1 Award per contracted producer number)
  • $5,000 -Awarded to the Producer with the Highest Premium Dollar Sales with a minimum production of $10,000 during the promotional period (1 Award)
  • $3,000 -Awarded to the Producer with the 2nd Highest Premium Dollar Sales with a minimum production of $10,000 during the promotional period (1 Award)
  • $2,000 -Awarded to the Producer with the 3rd Highest Premium Dollar Sales with a minimum production of $10,000 during the promotional period (1 Award)
  • $1,000 -Awarded to a Managing General Agent (MGA), that activates* the most new STM Producers during the promotional period (1 Award)

Promotion Details:

  • Eligible Products:  HCC Life STM   
  • Incentive Time frame:  June 1, 2010 - July 15, 2010

Terms of Promotion:

  • Total calculation of Premium will be based on each Uniquely Contracted Producer Number
  • Total calculation of Premium will be based on approved policies with an effective date during the Promotion Period
  • Awards will be paid on or before September 15, 2010 and paid separately from commissions
  • Promotion is limited to the 1st $1,000,000 in premium sold during the promotional period
  • Producer must be contracted and in good standing with HCC Medical Insurance Services, LLC at all times during Promotion Period and on award payment date to be eligible
  • Producer must be appropriately licensed in the state where the policy is issued
  • Policies that are canceled during Promotional Period will not be counted towards promotion
* An activation for this promotion occurs once an eligible Producer submits their first piece of valid STM business through their Uniquely Contracted Producer Number.
