Kansas City Life Select Trust Plus

For Groups of 2 to 9 Employees

  • Select Trust Plus Life

The Select Trust Plus Life product offers a maximum benefit of $100,000 and includes Waiver of Premium and 24-hour Accelerated Death & Dismemberment coverage. Dependent life coverage may be included.

  • Select Trust Plus STD

The Select Trust Plus Short Term Disability (STD) plan allows employers to provide this benefit at a reasonable cost. Choose between benefit choices of 60 percent of weekly base earnings or a flat amount, or a combination of the two. No medical exams or evidence of insurability is required.

Coverage includes:

    * Maternity covered same as any disabling illness
    * Maximum weekly benefit of $750
    * Option of 13- or 26-week benefit period
    * Pre-existing condition benefit

  • Select Trust Plus Long Term Disability

KCL starts by offering a maximum monthly benefit of $5,000 which protects up to $100,000 of an employee’s annual earnings. Employers may then choose either a 90- or 180-day elimination period. Two different benefit schedules are available depending on industry classification. No medical exams or evidence of insurability is required.

Coverage includes:

    * Partial disability benefits, encouraging disabled employees to return to work
    * Waiver of Premium Benefit

    KCL offers built-in Waiver of Premium and Accelerated Death Benefits. Then we add the flexibility of a plan design that can be tailored to your client’s specific needs. We also include a generous conversion privilege.

    Optional coverage includes:

        * Accidental Death and Dismemberment
        * Dependent life coverage
        * Supplemental life coverage

  • Group Short Term Disability

    Our Short Term Disability (STD) product is designed to offer a variety of benefit levels based on the employee’s needs. With a choice of benefit percentages, maximums and elimination periods, we let employers determine which coverage works for their group.

    We offer provisions for employees who are partially disabled. Or, if an employee becomes disabled from the same cause as a prior disability, the current disability may be considered a continuation of the prior disability. In addition, two-year rate guarantees may be available for groups of less than 100 lives.
  • Group Long Term Disability

    KCL's  next generation Long Term Disability (LTD) plan combines flexible plan design with strengthened claim management capabilities to ensure benefits are paid correctly and plan abuses are limited, keeping costs affordable for both employers and employees.

    From a choice of benefit percentages and maximums to a return-to-work incentive, our LTD plan offers optional riders that ensure your clients get the coverage they need.

    Standard contract includes:

        * Accumulation of elimination period
        * Waiver of Premium
        * Two-year rate guarantee

Best Life Group Life

BEST Life offers a selection of group life policies. All come with dependent spouse coverage and the option to add AD&D coverage.

Essential Group Life


A Group Term Life plan for groups with 10 or more enrolling

   1. Optional AD&D, Dependent and Supplemental Life
   2. Individuals can increase coverage for themselves, or include insurance for their children
   3. Guarantee issue amounts are based on total group volume
   4. 2-year rate guarantee and discounts are available for preferred industries

Essential Group Life also provides a Conversion privilege with or without evidence of insurability depending on how long the employee has been employed.

 

BEST Flex


BEST Flex can be offered to groups as small as 2 when sold in conjunction with another BEST Life product or is available as a stand alone plan for groups with 10-50 enrolled. There are no ineligible industries, no enrollment fees and depending on group size, up to $30,000 of coverage is available without additional health information.

Plan Highlights:

   1. For groups with 2 or more enrolling when bundled with a BEST Life medical or dental plan
   2. Available as stand alone for groups with 10-50 enrolled
   3. AD&D is also available for employees who choose this option
   4. No ineligible industries
   5. Up to $30,000 guarantee issue depending on group size
   6. Age rated
